英語考試中的選擇填空題或者完形填空中，if和whether總會出現，很多同學對這兩個詞的用法總是分不清。今天我們來復習一下由whether和if引導的賓語從句，幫助大家明確if和whether的用法。
1. if或whether不能和that 或其它連接詞同時使用，也不能省去。
eg. I don’t know if(whether) he will come here today .
2. if或whether引導的賓語從句時, 雖具有疑問意義, 但從句語序應用陳述句語序。
eg. 一般疑問句：Did you know the way to the hospital ? The old woman asked me .
賓語從句：The old woman asked me if (whether) I knew the way to the hospital .
3. if或whether引導的賓語從句，主句為一般現在時，從句可以用現在任何種時態，主句為一般過去時，從句則用過去時中的任一種時態。
eg. I don't know if (whether) he has come here . (現在時和現在完成時)
4. 在動詞不定式之前只能用whether 。
eg. I can’t decide whether to stay.
5. whether ?or not 為固定搭配。
eg. I want to know whether you come or not .
6. 在介詞后只能用whether。
eg. His father is worried about whether he lose his work .
7. 從句放在句首表示強調時只能用whether 。
eg. Whether they can arrive on time is still a question .
