1. 關于數字寫法
采用英美報刊通用的數字寫法
十以上數字、年份、百分率、金額等都用阿拉伯數字表示，數字采用千位逗號隔斷
十及十以下的數字都用英文表示，比如one apple, ten apples 特例：體育比賽中的比分，如 2-1，6-3，88-89 采用阿拉伯寫法
所有數字在后面有billion，million等情況時采用阿拉伯+英文寫法，比如1 million，10 billion，250 billion
正確寫法：
數字 one - ten用英語, 2,000 注意：3.25 million 10 billion 250 billion
序數詞 first - ninth用英語，10th 以上用數字+簡寫
分數 3/4
年份 2010 1980s
百分率 3% 10% 11%
金額 $2,400 £25 billion
時間 10 am 3 pm
日期 September 10th September 7th
單位 1,000 kilometers（美）/kilometres（英） 1,000 kilograms（美）/kilogrammes（英）
2. 關于拼寫
拼寫一般采用美式拼法，但是BBC新聞聽寫采用英式拼法。
附：常見英式拼寫與美式拼寫的區別
1) 英國英語單詞中不發音的詞尾 -me, -ue在 美 國 英 語 拼 寫 中 被 刪 除 。 如 : kilogramme/kilogram ( 公斤), programme/program ( 方案), catalogue/catalog(目錄)等。
2) 英國英語中的以 -our 結尾的單詞, 在美國英語中刪去了不發音的字母 u。如: behaviour/behavior( 舉止、行為), discolour/discolor( 褪色), labour/labor(勞動)等。
3) 英國英語拼寫字母 ae 或 oe, 在美國英語中僅留發音元音 e。如: anaemia/anemia( 貧血癥),aeon/eon(永世), aesthetic/esthetic(美學的)等。
4) 英國英語拼寫字母 -ll-, 在美國英語只寫-l-。如: chilli/chili(干辣椒), dialling/dialing(電話撥碼), leveller/leveler(水平測量員)等。但是, 也有一些相反的例子, 如美國英語中的 appall、instill, distill、installment、willful 等在英國英語中往往只有單寫 l。而 distillery、installation、propeller 等詞的拼法則在英國英語和美國英語中是相同的。
5) 英國英語詞尾是輔音字母加 -e, 而美國英語詞尾是輔音字母。如: axe/ax( 斧), blonde/blond(亞麻色的)等。
6) 英國英語用 -eable、-ement, 美國英語用-able、-ment。如 likeable/likable ( 討人喜歡的), loveable/lovable( 可愛的), judgement/judgment( 審判), acknowledgement/acknowledgment(承認)等。
7) 英國英語中以 xion 結尾的詞, 美國英語常以 tion 結尾, 例如: complexion/complection( 面色), connexion/connection ( 連接), flexion/flection(彎曲)等。
8) 英國英語中以 -ise、-yse、-s- 結尾的詞, 美國英語常以 -ize、-yze、-z- 結尾, 如: activise/activize(激起), advertise/advertize(為……做廣告)等。
9) 一些英國英語以 re 結尾的詞, 美國英語拼寫的順序正好相反。如, calibre/caliber ( 口徑),centre/center(中心), fibre/fiber(纖維) 等。
3. 關于標點
英文文本采用英文輸入模式下的半角標點。逗號、句號、分號、嘆號等后面要敲一個空格鍵，破折號的前后要各敲一個空格鍵，引號則不需要在后面敲空格。
注：標點符號錯誤雖然會被系統判出來，但是不會計入正確率。
4. 關于縮寫單詞
美式拼法習慣上要在縮寫字母后加一個句點，英式拼法習慣上不加句點
注意比較：
美式寫法VOA：Mr. Obama U.N. U.S. U.K. a.m. p.m.
英式寫法BBC：Mr Obama UN US UK am pm
